Famous Vietnamese coffee brand Trung Nguyen has spent nearly three decades building its brand with canned and bagged coffees that have become staples at Vietnamese grocery stores and top recommendations for people looking to make Cafe Sua Da-style drinks at home. After a year of hanging signs proclaiming Trung Nguyen’s arrival in the U.S. in coffee shop form, two stores opened nearly simultaneously in and around Little Saigon: Trung Nguyen Legend in Westminster, as well as a Trung Nguyen E-Coffee next to Hue Kitchen in Santa Ana.

Trung Nguyen Legend offers the more luxe experience. For just under $10, you can try their namesake “Legend” cafe sua da – coffee slowly drip brewed in a phin at your table – which comes with condensed milk, two cookies and a color postcard to memorialize the experience. You assemble it yourself when the drip process completes.
