TBaar

In Buena Park, excellent, healthy fruit teas and smoothies plus several mille crepe cakes

We almost always grab drinks somewhere when we visit The Source, and at this point, we’ve tried virtually every option that makes drinks fresh rather than serving them from cans or bottles. One of our top two choices is TBaar – a tea bar located in the fourth floor food court, near our other favorite, Ding Tea.

What initially caught our eyes were passionfruit fruit teas, dragonfruit smoothies, and pina colada smoothies, each of which we’ve ordered and enjoyed on multiple occasions, as well as mille crepe cakes. Ube, mango, and matcha mille crepe cakes are currently available, and unlike others we’ve tried locally, TBaar’s mango cakes actually have bits of fruit inside.

The big draws here are in the use of fresh fruits, which enable you to order drinks that are about as healthy as one can get by blending ice with pure produce, and portion sizes that are reasonable for the prices. Tbaar isn’t a place to get super cheap drinks – expect to pay $6.50 to $7.50 on average, depending on size – but everything sippable is affordable, and we haven’t yet left feeling that we’d wasted money on a drink that tasted bad or was largely either colored syrup or ice.

Whether you’ll love the mille crepe cake slices, currently around $8 each, is a matter of personal taste. Just like the drinks at TBaar, we’ve enjoyed them, and would certainly come back for more.
