Orange Blossom – The Oriental Kitchen

Shortly after Fifty One Chinese Kitchen shut down at Buena Park’s shopping and dining destination The Source, signs went up promoting its replacement, “Orange Blossom – The Oriental Kitchen,” a long and outdated name that we didn’t think would stick. While there was already a Chinese restaurant called Orange Blossom in the City of Orange, this Orange Blossom turned out to be one of the weirder Asian fusion restaurants we’ve come across. Its unusual menu was approximately 45% Thai dishes, 5% Chinese-American food, and 50% Cajun seafood. We’ve seen combined Cajun-Vietnamese menus, but nothing like this.

In practice, this combination didn’t appear to have been fully fleshed out. Orange Blossom opened with a rule that none of the Cajun items were available a la carte unless you started with a $48-$83 “combo” containing multiple pounds of seafood, corn, sausage, and potatoes. So any plan that involved ordering Thai, Chinese, and Cajun in the same meal would be out the door.
