An ever-evolving, chef-curated selection of donuts that are anything but common
A few local dessert shops are so compelling that we actively struggle to keep from returning weekly and eating everything in sight. Oliboli Donuts is that sort of place, and truly outstanding at everything it does. Opened in 2018 with a chef-curated approach to producing donuts, Oliboli selects either uncommon flavors or more challenging spins – even including savory options, such as a stuffed “pizza” – then delivers ideally realized, gourmet-quality treats rather than half-baked versions.
From pumpkin to meyer lemon, lavender sugar to cactus pear, Oliboli nails fruit and herbal donuts every time. Coffee crisp, gingerbread, and other seasonal versions pop up and consistently stun, too. And while perfectly sweet/savory-balanced whiskey and bourbon bacon donuts have given way to more traditional maple bacon donuts as a “classic” menu item, they and others (bright purple Bumbleberry and banana pudding/toffee-topped Banoffee) are reminders that a lot more effort goes into prepping these donuts than more common versions sold elsewhere. In some cases, donuts are delivered literally as they’re being finished with toppings, making them less than ideal to drive with… but perfect to enjoy at a cafe table, with some of Oliboli’s hand-made coffee drinks.
Between the great donuts, consistently friendly service, and compelling specials, Oliboli is a top local choice for donuts, particularly during the winter holidays. The single location in Tustin is a credit to its neighborhood, as well as to the entire county.
