Mission Ranch Market

Thanks to its massive footprint and diverse collection of small restaurant concepts, Wholesome Choice is perhaps the best-known Persian market in Orange County – but Mission Viejo’s Mission Ranch Market is a solid option serving the southern part of OC. In addition to the store, there’s an on-site Persian restaurant (named “restaurant”) where orders are taken at a counter, and can be taken away or consumed at uncomfortable fast food-style tables on premises.

Your reward for eating here is some of the most tender, beautiful chicken koobideh and beef kabobs you’ll find outside of Little Arabia, lamb shanks, spicy fish, or pomegranate-stewed chicken. There are also healthy salads, delicious rice, and appetizers ranging from Persian-style eggplant (Kashk-O-Bademjan) and hummus dips to lentil and barley soups. While we don’t love the dining environment here, we’d return for the food and shopping at the market.
