Located in the heart of Los Angeles’s Little Tokyo, the Japanese American National Museum offers a small but tastefully executed collection of exhibits exploring Japanese-American culture and historical moments. On its upper floor, the Museum holds a structure preserved from a Wyoming concentration camp that was used to relocate and incarcerate Japanese-Americans during World War II, alongside displays of suitcases, clothing, and photographs from the period; additional exhibits and table/booth community events celebrate contemporary culture (including Giant Robot pop art and toys), fashion, and to a limited extent food. A small gift shop in the front sells books, clothing, kitchenware, paperweights, and jewelry.
