With two separate exhibition spaces at the Ovation Hollywood shopping and dining complex, Japan House spotlights the work of Japanese artists and creators through gallery exhibitions and special events. A second floor gallery has hosted exhibitions including a Pokémon x Kogei art exhibit and Kawaii is Art, exploring the history of colorful, “cute” Japanese art including pandemic era work from the artist Sebastian Masuda. The gallery includes a gift store with Japanese products and items themed to the current exhibition. On the fifth floor, Japan House operates an event venue – frequently used for discussions with Japanese moviemakers – and a library with books spotlighting Japanese creatives. Admission to the exhibitions and events is generally free.
