Part of the Smithsonian collection of free museums in Washington DC, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden is strong before you even step in the door – classical and modern sculptures outside include works by Yayoi Kusama and Auguste Rodin, preceding your entry into the curved gallery. The hits continue with an immersive lower-level collection of Barbara Kruger phrases and questions, plus an incredible immersive Laurie Anderson painting created specifically for the Hirshhorn.
