Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden – DC

Immersive art and magnificent sculptures, the Smithsonian way

Part of the Smithsonian collection of free museums in Washington DC, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden is strong before you even step in the door – classical and modern sculptures outside include works by Yayoi Kusama and Auguste Rodin, preceding your entry into the curved gallery. The hits continue with an immersive lower-level collection of Barbara Kruger phrases and questions, plus an incredible immersive Laurie Anderson painting created specifically for the Hirshhorn. Numerous thought-providing paintings and sculptures from the last 100-plus years are found in the museum’s collection, as well.
