Hangar 24 Craft Brewing

Hidden inside an office park, this taproom and restaurant also offers outdoor entertainment

Located inside Intersect, part of the Irvine Business Complex, Hangar 24 is the Orange County taproom location of a brewery located in Redlands. Nestled between office buildings with adjacent office parking lots, the key distinction between this and many other local gastropubs is a large outdoor recreation area where kids and adults can have fun – sometimes with live country or rock music – right where people are eating and drinking.

Ten beers – seven core and three limited release – are typically on tap for those who imbibe. While we skipped the beers and didn’t get the full experience, the food we tried was better than we expected.

The exclusively American menu is loaded with french fries, corn dogs, wings, chips, salads, flatbreads, and burgers; the grilled cheese and caesar salad were nothing special. That said, Hangar 24 served one of the best Nashville Hot chicken sandwiches and some of the best onion rings we’ve had in Orange County.

The prices have become fairly steep – sandwiches are mostly $18-$19 each, including fries – but if you’re looking for a place to eat this sort of food and drink beer, Hangar 24’s a nice (if somewhat hidden) place to do it.
