Ha Noi Corner
Come to this Little Saigon restaurant for the turmeric and dill fish and thick noodle seafood soup
Previously known as GOC Ha Noi Corner, Ha Noi Corner in Garden Grove is a Vietnamese restaurant we would gladly revisit based on a really positive initial experience, and a compelling (if somewhat familiar) menu.
Two of the standout items here are the northern Vietnamese dill and fish dish Cha Ca Thang Long and the Bun Rieu crab ball and pork soup, both of which put many local rivals to shame in both flavors and presentation.
While you can find Cha Ca Thang Long elsewhere, it’s commonly compromised, either arriving finished rather than sizzling/steaming, or without much fresh dill. Getting it here will delight most of your senses: Chunks of turmeric fried fish poke out with steam from a jungle of dill, guaranteeing that you’ll see and smell the dish coming before you taste it.
Other dishes, such as baby clams with crispy rice crackers, are competently executed here but more of an acquired taste, while their boba teas and soft drinks were superb: standalone tea shop-quality.
In equal parts due to the very good food quality, friendly service, and nice space – which has room to accommodate larger parties and was well-maintained when we visited – we would broadly recommend Ha Noi Corner to anyone interested in experiencing uniquely Vietnamese dishes in a welcoming environment.
