Fourtea
Small tea shops with an abiding love for sheep, strong flavors, and good values
Sometimes a boba shop is just a good boba shop. That’s Fourtea, which has two Orange County locations: the Orange original, which opened in 2020, and its two-year-younger sibling in Fullerton. Fourtea’s logo is a smiling sheep drinking tea, and the stores are full of small sheep statuettes, “baa” and “4T4U” branding – all gentle, positive vibes that combined with their high-quality drinks (typically $6 each) to leave us feeling happy and fully satisfied.
On our first visit, we really liked the lychee blended tea, found the dragonfruit hurricane to be a perfect summer drink – icy and sweet – and fell in love with the Nutella boba latte, a rich and atypical use of one of our favorite sauces. (It’s also atypical of Fourtea; coffee drinks represent less than 5% of their menu; this drink’s no longer one of them.) We subsequently changed things up, trying their lemon/green Thai tea, Princess Peach, and mango hurricane with boba. In every case, the fruit flavors taste fresh and bold rather than syrupy, with quality teas and appropriate rather than overwhelming or underwhelming levels of ice and boba.
There’s nothing besides tea and coffee to order at Fourtea, and there doesn’t need to be: It’s doing what it set out to do perfectly, and at prices we’re glad to pay given the quality. We’re excited to revisit again.
