Fontainebleau Las Vegas

Las Vegas's second most expensive resort ever built is also its most ambitious in scope and dining

Built for nearly $4 billion over 15 years – yes, that’s correct – the Fontainebleau Las Vegas may only be the city’s second most expensive resort next to Resorts World, but it’s unparalleled in ambition by Las Vegas standards. As the second location of the historic Fontainebleau in Miami Beach, Fontainebleau Las Vegas was built to attract a celebrity and high roller clientele, despite its convenient location (only a brief walk) relative to the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Beyond the impressive casino, which manages to evoke the luxurious blue fountain theme with gorgeous blue, royal purple, and dripping gold practically everywhere you look, the resort is home to over 30 dining destinations, only some of which had opened as of our visit. Here, you can see everything from the lobby to the first floor casino areas, including art and sculpture displays, restaurants, and more. A golden moving sculpture near one entrance responds to the motion of people walking past its pillars, spinning them as an echo of their presence.

Some of the surprises included a Chrome Hearts fashion boutique location, a liquor and candy shop, and bars ranging from the Solo Club to Collins. You can also see some of their signature restaurants, starting with the incredible dim sum spectacle Washing Potato, high-end Italian restaurant Mother Wolf, Japanese restaurant Kyu, theatrical steakhouse Papi Steak, and Collins bar.

For those who would prefer a more casual meal, a food court-like area hosts a Miami-style pizza place, a NY bagel specialist, burgers, and a Californian-Mexican restaurant. We’re looking forward to returning after everything has opened, and experiencing more of what the hotel has to offer.
