Dongpo Kitchen

Opened at Universal Studios Hollywood’s CityWalk in 2016, this casual-ish version of high-end Chinese chain restaurant Meizhou Dongpo enabled visitors to enjoy Sichuan food and Peking duck at authenticity levels typically impossible at American theme parks. Legitimately good steamed buns, dan dan noodles, hot and sour soup, crispy-skinned meats, and soup dumplings were available alongside multiple chicken (chongqing), shrimp, and vegetarian dishes.

Dongpo Kitchen closed in September 2024. A full Meizhou Dongpo restaurant with formal dining has continued to operate in Orange County since 2017, within the same Irvine plaza that previously housed popular Chinese seafood and BBQ house Sam Woo.
