The Aliso Viejo Farmers Market is open on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm in the parking lot of Aliso Viejo Town Center, in front of Edwards Cinemas. Visitors will find roughly two dozen vendors ranging from multiple “we grow what we sell” fruit and vegetable farmers to the honey, cheese, jerky, kettle corn, tamale, scented candle, and hair accessory stands that have become staples at OC Certified Farmers Market locations. For those seeking ready-to-cook meals, frozen seafood, meats, and half-baked pizzas are generally available. A few standouts include Chaupain Bakery, a Japanese pudding and donut shop, and Ziggy Bars – charmingly billed on signs as “the most delicious way to help constipation.”
The Market’s energy level was low-key when we visited – a contrast with some of the Town Center’s interesting restaurants, which include Italian-American seafood restaurant Opah, Argentinian ice cream shop Pampas, and amusingly named Vietnamese restaurant Pho King Way. Free parking is ample and crowds are unlikely to be heavy; consider it worthy of a stop if you’re already in the neighborhood.
