Trang Tien

Once admired as a shining example of Central Vietnamese cuisine in Little Saigon, the Westminster-based Trang Tien specialized in Hue-style spicy beef soup (bun bo hue), my quang (wide egg noodles), banh beo chen (mini rice tapioca discs, garnished with minced shrimp), banh bot lot (clear tapioca and shrimp steamed in leaves), and banh it ram (crispy rice crackers with soft tapioca dumplings on top).

While these superb Vietnamese dishes are increasingly becoming available in Orange County, which now boasts the largest Vietnamese population outside of Vietnam, they currently remain largely unknown elsewhere in the United States. To welcome those unfamiliar with central Vietnamese cuisine, Trang Tien offered a great sampler with several items in smaller portions.

Trang Tien closed in 2021, soon after a change in ownership and major decline in food quality.
