Crumbl Cookies

If you’re a social media addict or know someone who is, you’ve probably already heard of Crumbl Cookies – or tried it yourself. Founded in Utah in 2017, the chain currently has around 860 mostly franchised locations, down from over 1,000 at its peak, including 17 locations in Orange County. At the height of its hype in 2022, Crumbl achieved critical mass for large, fashionable cookies that also happen to be particularly unhealthy: their calorie counts are measured by 1/4 or smaller cookie serving sizes, and even so deliver the caloric equivalent of 4-8 cans of soda per cookie.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the cookies have been touted by pricey influencers and celebrities including Kylie Jenner and Olivia Rodrigo, generating line-ups for special one-off flavors and arguably collectible packaging. One large-sized cookie sells for $5, with a box of all six current flavors going for $25. Mini cookies are sold for $3 each in sets of three or six.
