Diho Siam Thai and Chinese

Across-the-board blahs from this Thai/kinda-Chinese chain in Ladera Ranch, Lake Forest + Mission Viejo

It’s entirely possible that Diho Siam has improved its food since our experience several years ago, but of all the Thai restaurants we’ve ordered delivery from – and that’s quite a few – this was the only one disappointingly bland enough to never order again.

Diho Siam operates restaurants in Ladera Ranch, Lake Forest, and Mission Viejo, offering a menu that’s split around 70/30 Thai to Chinese. The Chinese section is perhaps better understood as Americanized Chinese, though, including chop suey, chow mein, cream cheese wontons and the like – the Thai items comparatively cover all the bases of a standard Thai family restaurant circa 1995.

From curries to satay, mee krob and fried appetizers, there was nothing particularly good about anything we tried here: fried items were oily and gross, curries were low on meat, and even a salad looked like no effort had gone into its assembly besides dumping out a supermarket pre-chopped kit.

Based on the across-the-board mediocrity to disappointment of all of these items, we saw no reason to revisit Diho Siam in the future. There are thankfully so many good to great Thai options and actually authentic Chinese restaurants around here that we wouldn’t waste another meal on an experience like this.
