José Andrés's second bar in NYC's Ritz-Carlton NoMad offers city views and luxe drinks

Located on the 50th floor of the Ritz-Carlton New York Nomad hotel, Nubeluz (“cloud”+“light”) is one of two standalone bars on the premises featuring José Andrés Group cocktails and snacks. It has a different vibe than the ground floor’s Bazaar Bar, prioritizing exclusivity, an amazing view, and luxurious jamón and caviar experiences.

The brief food menu includes four sandwiches (grilled cheese, bikini, lobster roll and tuna roll), four sweet cones (Lemon Chamomile Mont Blanc, Basil and White Chocolate, Dulce de Leche and Luxardo Cherry, S’mores), a skewer of jumbo olives, olives, almonds, and the aforementioned Spanish jamón and caviar options, the latter presented theatrically with dry ice.

While the classic and modern cocktails are often eye-catchingly presented, notably including the literally foggy Foggy Hill, Nubeluz’s biggest draw is the incredible city view: tall, clear glass windows offer a perch to see modern New York from above, with Freedom Tower right in the middle of the 270-degree panorama. Note that reservations are virtually mandatory, and you’ll need both permission and guidance to use the hotel’s deluxe elevator to climb into Manhattan’s clouds.
